Ever since I was in primary school I wanted to become a teacher. I had many family members in school at the same time, as staff and as students, so school was quite a familial experience for me. I qualified as a primary school teacher with a Bachelor of Education from Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, Ireland in 2019. I taught in Ireland for 6 years, with most recent experience as an assistant principal in a senior national school in Dublin. I learned so much about my teaching philosophy over these years and it continues to change and develop with more experience.
In 2025 I decided to take a career break to pursue a new adventure in Switzerland. I always dreamed of living abroad and Zürich was the perfect place with the lake and the mountains. Here I found Terra Nova and their wonderful team. I love being part of an international community and guiding the children through their bilingual education. I’m also part of the after-school care team, which has been a nice way to get to know the rest of the school community. I hope to gain invaluable experience from this new setting and role alongside improving my German skills!
