After school clubs

The Terra Nova Bilingual School is also here for our students after regular lessons have ended. A varied range of recreational courses after classes have finished makes it possible for children and young students to pursue special interests and talents. After school there is also the possibility to do homework and prepare for tests with the support of a teacher.

Description

Originated in the US, hip hop encompasses a wide range of different styles: Breaking or B-Boying (Break Dance), Popping and Locking. Over time, other styles developed (New Style). The culture of hip-hop developed in the poorer neighbourhoods of major American cities, such as New York and Los Angeles. The different dance styles were first danced on the streets and had no set rules. It is still called “street dance” today.

We learn the basis and the appropriate groove so that we can apply and dance appropriate choreographies to them.

Regular hip-hop dancing can promote all aspects of physical fitness: Body control, strength, endurance, speed and flexibility. Learning choreographies helps concentration and memory. We do not only dance according to given choreographies, but also improvise a lot – imagination and creativity are in demand! The music ensures good spirits, relaxation and fun in movement.

Course Instructor

This course is organised by the “Lordz Dance Academy”, Wetzikon, which has successfully been established in the hip-hop scene for more than 20 years. The teachers are internationally successful coaches who want to pass on the joy of dance movements (www.lordz.ch).
