Perhaps you have heard about our wonderful new classroom furniture?! We look forward to welcoming you all back into our school building to experience the new, refreshed feeling in each of the primary classrooms.
Although we were able to function with the furniture we had previously, it was decided this year that replacing it with high quality, durable and aesthetically pleasing furniture was an important step. The new desks, chairs and teacher storage has lightened and brightened each of the classroom and has optimised the space we have. The height of each item is also individually adjustable, meaning the teachers can quickly make a seat and table higher or lower depending on the student’s needs to allow for optimal learning.
The old furniture was donated to needy schools in Africa. We were thrilled to support the non-profit organisation ‘Djunta Mon Community Center’. Since sending the furniture to them, we have received a wonderful thank you message. Click here to watch the journey our desks and chairs took before arriving in Mindelo.
