When does a journey begin and where does it end?
For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a teacher – just ask my poor younger brother! I grew up in Eastern Ontario (Canada) and later obtained my teaching certificate at Brock University. I moved to Switzerland immediately after graduation. In Switzerland I have worked at the International School of Zug & Luzern and the International School of Central Switzerland, in the Pre-Kindergarten through to the Third grade level.
The following quote from Benjamin Franklin reflects my belief about learning, „Tell me and I forget, Teach me and I remember, Involve me and I learn.“ I also believe: that every classroom should be a positive place, that learning should be meaningful, that children should be given the opportunity to think, create and reflect, and most importantly … that every child should feel valued.
When not teaching, I love to spend time with my husband, children and friends. I especially enjoy the outdoors, reading, crafts and dancing.
I am not sure where my teaching journey will end but I am excited to have Terra Nova as one of the stops on my journey.
