My name is Heidi Grupp. I have dual British/Swiss nationality. Born and raised in England, I have travelled and worked in many countries around the world. I love the great outdoors and in my free time you will always find me in the mountains, skiing, mountain biking and hiking with my family.
As a mother of 3 wonderful children, I have found how enriching life has become seeing these wonders through fresh eyes, always full of awe and excitement of learning new talents and the discovery of how rewarding it can become when you pursue a goal.
I believe life should be about making as many different memories as possible, investigating and discovering new experiences which allow us to open worlds and opportunities.
«You can teach a student a lesson for a day, but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.»
– Clay P. Bedford
For me this statement runs through the core of learning. It is not only a teacher’s responsibility to teach a child for a period of time, it is our job to provide them with the tools to think and question for themselves, to inspire and spark their intrigue and excitement to learn.
My classroom is a place where children enter a warm, happy, safe, secure environment and where the needs of each child are of the upmost importance. Having completed a degree in Business and Marketing, I went on to complete a PGCE in Primary Education and began my teacher career in England. Since moving to Switzerland 5 years ago, I have worked in an International school in Zug before taking time to raise my children. I am now very pleased to be part of the wonderful team here at IBS Terra Nova.
