This course will be for students who want to dig deeper into the world of performance.  These students are passionate about all three performance disciplines of singing, dancing and acting.  Our main focus will be to act out characters from famous Disney and Broadway musicals. We will work on building the ensemble, teamwork, improvisation, theatrical performance techniques.  If students decide that they want to put on a final performance, we will then be using scenes, songs and basic choreography to start building towards a final show or open class for a small audience of family and friends.  Some of the Disney and Broadway musicals that we could focus on are: Jungle Book, Little Mermaid, Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mary Poppins, Frozen, Annie, Oliver, Sound of Music, Wizard of Oz, Cats, Finding Neverland, Matilda, Wicked, Shrek, Fiddler on the Roof, Suessical, and more!

In order to avoid injury, students should come to class with gel padded socks or plimsole shoes, in order to not slide on slippery floors.  Also, please come in loose fitting, comfortable clothing (sweatshirt, t-shirt, sweat pants).  We will be moving around and need to make sure our clothing allows us to be as creative as possible!

We want everyone to feel safe, nurtured and cared for the Drama classroom.  All students are encouraged to join the Drama class if all emotional, physical and social respect is strictly maintained by all who participate.  Failure to do so may mean being asked to stop participation in the course.
